  • 28 ounces tomatoes with juice (1 can)
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, to taste
  • Slurry
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Sauté green pepper and onion in 2 tablespoons of butter.

  • Step 2: Add seasoning, tomatoes and juice.

  • Step 3: Simmer covered for 1 hour.

  • Step 4: Blend in the cornstarch with water using a wire whip.

  • Step 5: Simmer.

  • Step 6: Remove bay leaf.
