Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 double pie crust
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms, slightly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dry parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 slices mild cheddar cheese or American

How to Make

  • Step 1: Make a two-crust pie shell and put in a 8" or 9" plate.

  • Step 2: In a skillet saute the onions and cook till partially tender; add the hamburg and cook till done; drain off fat.

  • Step 3: Add tomato sauce, mushrooms, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  • Step 4: Beat the eggs and pour half of this over the bottom pie shell.

  • Step 5: Spoon the meat mixture into the shell on top of the beaten eggs; arrange cheese slices over this; spread with remaining egg mixture.

  • Step 6: Put the top shell on the pie and make slits; loosely cover the edges of pie with strip of foil to prevent edges from getting too brown and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

  • Step 7: Cover center of pie with foil and bake another 20 minutes; let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
