Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, drain.
Step 2: Save 1/2 cup water.
Step 3: Sauce: Cook bacon until crisp and remove.
Step 4: Save 2 tablespoons bacon grease.
Step 5: Add onions and mushrooms and cook until translucent.
Step 6: Add garlic, pasta water, bouillon and heavy cream.
Step 7: Cook.
Step 8: Add drained pasta and cook until thickened.
Step 9: At very end add cheese and nutmeg.
Step 10: Season to taste.
