Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Dry
  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • Wet
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2: Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and spray with baking spray.

  • Step 3: Set aside.

  • Step 4: In a large bowl sift together dry ingredients.

  • Step 5: Add raisins.

  • Step 6: Stir with a wire whisk.

  • Step 7: Set bowl aside.

  • Step 8: In a medium bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together.

  • Step 9: Add the oil.

  • Step 10: Beat well.

  • Step 11: Pour the egg, sugar and oil mixture into the dry ingredients.

  • Step 12: Add the buttermilk and stir to combine.

  • Step 13: Stir only until no visible flour remains, about 10-15 good stirs.

  • Step 14: Do not overmix.

  • Step 15: Pour the batter into prepared pan and bake for 55 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Step 16: Loaf is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Step 17: Remove the loaf from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

  • Step 18: After about 30 minutes remove the loaf from the pan and allow to cool completely on the wire rack before cutting into 9 slices.
