Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Rice
  • 7 ounces dry white rice (1 cup)
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (it had 1 teaspoon)
  • 1/8 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Add
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 6 ounces English peas (1 can)
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons pimento, chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook rice covered in chicken broth with turmeric powder and salt to taste on simmer for 20 minutes, take off heat and leave covered 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Saute onions and green pepper in butter until tender.

  • Step 3: Combine this mixture with cooked rice.

  • Step 4: Add chopped pimentos and peas and toss.

  • Step 5: Season to taste.
