Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Base
  • 2 pounds beef stew meat, diced, fat on
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soybean oil
  • 1 cup onions, minced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 15 ounces tomatoes, diced (1 can)
  • 8 cups beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon
  • Vegetable mix
  • 15 ounces potatoes, diced, undrained (1 can)
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 cup frozen green beans
  • 4 ounces dry alphabet pasta
  • 1/2 cup frozen corn
  • Slurry
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon msg
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season the beef to taste.

  • Step 2: Heat oil in stock pot, and brown beef, add onions and cook until translucent.

  • Step 3: Add celery, tomato paste and paprika, don't burn.

  • Step 4: Add beef stock, bouillon and tomatoes.

  • Step 5: Simmer for 2 hours until beef is tender.

  • Step 6: Add vegetable mix.

  • Step 7: Simmer 1 hour more adding water as needed.

  • Step 8: Add slurry mix at end and cook for 10 minutes.

  • Step 9: Season to taste.
