Step 1: Melt 2 tablespoons butter in large saucepan.
Step 2: Add onion and season lightly.
Step 3: Add mushrooms.
Step 4: Sauté until soft, about 4 minutes.
Step 5: Add chicken broth.
Step 6: Cover tightly and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 7: In small skillet, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
Step 8: Stir in flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Step 9: Cook for 30 seconds or until bubbly.
Step 10: Blend in 1 cup hot mushroom mixture.
Step 11: Pour into large saucepan with half and half.
Step 12: Mix well.
Step 13: Heat mixture to boil, stirring constantly.
