  • 2 pounds potatoes, diced (4 medium)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 ounces sour cream (1/2 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the butter and sauté the onion until translucent.

  • Step 2: Add paprika and season lightly.

  • Step 3: Add potatoes, bay leaf, water and salt to taste.

  • Step 5: Remove bay leaf.

  • Step 6: Blend the flour and sour cream until smooth.

  • Step 7: Stir this mixture into the potato mixture.

  • Step 8: Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly.

  • Step 9: Season to taste.
