Step 1: Brown ground beef and onion in 5-quart Dutch oven and drain.
Step 2: Stir in all remaining ingredients except spinach bring to a boil and reduce heat.
Step 3: Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Add frozen spinach; cover and simmer for an additional 25 minutes.
Step 5: Stir to blend spinach into soup.
Step 6: Remove bay leaf.
Step 7: Season to taste.
