  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce
  • 6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/8 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Topping
  • 2 ounces parmesan cheese, grated

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water al dente drain

  • Step 2: Sauce: Melt butter, and add flour (do not brown).

  • Step 3: Lightly season.

  • Step 4: Add milk and whisk until thickened.

  • Step 5: Add cheeses and allow to melt.

  • Step 6: Add drained macaroni and stir until combined.

  • Step 7: Pour into Pam sprayed 9x13 casserole.

  • Step 8: Sprinkle on parmesan cheese.

  • Step 9: Bake 30 minutes until hot and bubbly at 350 degrees F and lightly browned.
