Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2: Heat the oil in a skillet on the stovetop over medium heat.
Step 3: Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, or until the tomatoes have released their juices.
Step 4: Stir in the chopped garlic, capers, salt, dried oregano, and ground pepper; set aside.
Step 5: Place the cooked meatballs in a small casserole dish and pour the tomato mixture over the meatballs.

Step 9: Place 2 slices of cheese over each hoagie roll, and place on a baking sheet.
Step 10: Once the oven’s broiler is on, place the baking sheet on the top rack of the oven and broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the buns start to crisp.
Step 11: Remove buns from the oven and top with the meatballs and sauce.
