  • 6 cups water
  • Soup
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 6 cups water
  • 12 ounces evaporated milk (1 can)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak beans overnight.

  • Step 2: Drain.

  • Step 3: Cook beans in water that covers them, 4 to 6 cups.

  • Step 5: Add carrots, celery and onions, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning.

  • Step 6: Simmer for 30 minutes more.

  • Step 7: Add milk and season to taste, rinse out can with water and add to soup.
