  • 8 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce
  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3/4 pound ground beef
  • 28 ounces tomato puree (1 can)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 15 ounces kidney beans, undrained (1 can)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil and cook onions and bell pepper until soft.

  • Step 2: Add ground beef and cook until brown.

  • Step 3: Add chili powder, tomato puree and water, season to taste.

  • Step 4: Simmer, they said 1 hour adding beans the last 10 minutes. I'm adding with rest of ingredients.

  • Step 5: Simmer until thickened.

  • Step 6: Meanwhile, cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente; drain, saving 1/2 cup water to add to sauce.

  • Step 7: Add pasta to sauce cook until thick.
