The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups onions, chopped
  • 2 cups tomatoes, chopped
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 pound green beans

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season beef to taste.

  • Step 2: Dredge in seasoned flour.

  • Step 3: Heat oil in Dutch oven.

  • Step 4: Add beef and brown.

  • Step 5: Add onions, adding more oil if needed.

  • Step 6: Cook onions until translucent.

  • Step 7: Season lightly.

  • Step 8: Add tomatoes turn on low and cook 15 minutes.

  • Step 9: Add water, (can add beef bouillon).

  • Step 10: Simmer 1 hour.

  • Step 11: Add green beans.

  • Step 12: Simmer 1 hour covered, adding more water if needed.

  • Step 13: Can add a slurry of flour and water and cook if you wish, I'm not.

  • Step 14: Season to taste.
