Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2: Lightly grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.
Step 3: Melt butter and set aside to cool.
Step 4: In a bowl, mash bananas.
Step 5: You should have 1 cup.
Step 6: Beat in sugar, then egg and butter.
Step 7: In another bowl, stir together flour, salt and baking soda.
Step 8: Add to banana mixture and stir just until all flour is moistened.
Step 9: Stir in nuts, then pour into prepared pan.
Step 10: Bake in preheated oven 55 to 65 minutes or until bread tests done with a toothpick.
Step 11: When done, remove from oven and cool in pan 10 minutes.
Step 12: Turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
