Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 24 ounces cooked white rice (4 cups )
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon gochugaru (red chili flakes)
  • 1 teaspoon gochujang (sriracha sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 green scallion, finely sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until melted.

  • Step 2: Add carrots, onion and garlic and season generously with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3: Saute for about 5 minutes or until the onions and carrots are softened.

  • Step 4: Add peas.

  • Step 5: Increase the heat to high, and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and melt.

  • Step 6: Immediately add the rice, green onions, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, gochujang, gochugaru, cayenne and stir until combined.

  • Step 7: Continue stirring for an additional 3 minutes to dry the rice.

  • Step 8: Add the sesame oil to combine.

  • Step 9: Season to taste.
