Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds tenderized beef steak, cut into 1" cubes
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 6 cups water
  • 16 ounces diced tomatoes (1 can)
  • 3 tablespoons beef base (bouillon)
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 10 ounces frozen mixed vegetables (1 package)
  • 1 cup celery, sliced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • Roux
  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season steak.

  • Step 2: Heat margarine in large stockpot.

  • Step 3: Brown steak.

  • Step 4: Add water, tomatoes, beef bouillon and seasoning to taste.

  • Step 5: Bring to a boil.

  • Step 6: Simmer covered 30 minutes.

  • Step 7: Add all the veggies.

  • Step 8: Simmer covered another 30 minutes.

  • Step 9: Mix the roux and add to the soup.

  • Step 10: Simmer stirring until thickened.

  • Step 11: Season to taste.
