Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 slices sourdough or rye bread (don't use soft bread, but use a heartier sturdy kind)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup white wine
  • 8 ounces chilled brie (rind removed), cut into thin slices (can substitute with Camembert or even cheddar)
  • 1 medium apple, cut into thin slices (Honey Crisp or the like preferred)
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Butter the 4 bread slices. Brush the other side with white wine.

  • Step 2: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place two slices of bread butter-side-down on the skillet. Top each slice with brie, sliced apple and cranberry sauce. Place the other slices of bread on top- butter-side-up. Place a lid on top of the skillet.

  • Step 3: Reduce the heat to medium-low (depends on your stove, mine burns easily, so the lower the better) and let the sandwiches toast on the bottom. When the cheese looks like it's beginning to melt, take the lid off the skillet and use a spatula to check under the sandwiches. When they're golden brown, flip them gently.

  • Step 4: Toast the other side of the sandwich until golden brown. Serve immediately.
