Step 1: If using dry beans:
Step 2: Wash beans well and soak overnight in 2 quarts of water.
Step 3: Drain.
Step 4: Add 7 cups of water and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Step 5: Cook in a pressure cooker at 15 lb. pressure for 25 minutes.
Step 6: Cool cooker at once and drain.
Step 7: For canned beans:
Step 8: While beans are cooking, dice and fry bacon and saute onion in bacon drippings.
Step 9: Using a 3-quart bean pot or casserole, stir together bacon, onions, beans, and remaining ingredients.
Step 10: Bake at 275° for 3 hours.
