Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Meringue
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 9 ounces baked pie crust (1 crust)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt the butter in double boiler.

  • Step 2: Stir in the Runkel's All-Purpose Cocoa and cornstarch.

  • Step 3: Add the yolks of the eggs well beaten, the sugar, salt and milk.

  • Step 4: Cook in top of double boiler until thick, stirring constantly.

  • Step 5: Pour into well baked pie crust.

  • Step 6: For the meringue, beat the whites of the eggs until stiff and add 2 tablespoons of sugar.

  • Step 7: Top pie with meringue.

  • Step 8: Brown lightly in oven, and serve cold.
