  • 2 peaches, peeled, sliced thin, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the milk a little more than lukewarm.

  • Step 2: Cream sugar and egg yolks.

  • Step 3: Whip the egg whites until stiff.

  • Step 4: Add warmed milk slowly to the beaten yolks and sugar.

  • Step 5: Then add dry ingredients.

  • Step 6: Fold in stiff egg whites.

  • Step 7: Stir all together.

  • Step 8: And throw in thin slices of good peaches that you've peeled and chopped ,

  • Step 9: Dipping the batter over them.

  • Step 10: Drop large spoonfuls into boiling hot lard with pieces of peach in each and fry to a light brown.

  • Step 11: Turning over when one side is browned.

  • Step 12: Serve with real maple syrup.
