Step 1: Mix butter mixture and set aside.
Step 2: In a large stock pot, saute onions in butter and oil until tender.
Step 3: Add garlic.
Step 4: Add the tomato juice, broth, Lipton onion soup mix, lemon juice and parsley.
Step 5: Bring to a boil.
Step 6: Reduce heat.
Step 7: Simmer, uncovered, for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 8: Ladle soup into 10 ounce oven proof soup bowls.
Step 9: Top with garlic buttered French bread.
Step 10: Sprinkle with cheese mix.
Step 11: Broil 4-6 in. from the heat for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
