Step 1: Using a 1 quart mason jar, fill about 3/4 full of tart cherries, either pitted or whole.
Step 2: Layer the cherries with sugar as you put them in the jar.
Step 3: Fill jar with your choice of alcohol until almost full.
Step 4: Tighten the lid on the jar and shake to help incorporate the sugar
Step 5: Store in a dry, dark area for 3-6 months (longer the better).
Step 6: Enjoy over the holidays or all year round!
