Step 1: Boil the water in a saucepan.
Step 2: Add the pearls to the boiling water. Cook for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Step 3: Add 2 cups of brown sugar. Boil for 5 minutes more.
Step 4: In four glasses, pour the syrup mixture. Divide evenly. Tip the glasses from side to side to coat the glasses with syrup.
Step 5: Add some milk and ice cubes to each glass. Stir with a straw. Serve.
