  • 1⁄2 cup caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1⁄4 cup sultanas
  • Butter or margarine, for greasing dishes
  • Crumble topping
  • 1⁄2 cup plain flour
  • 1⁄3 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄3 cup rolled oats
  • 100 grams butter, chilled and chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced.

  • Step 2: Grease 6 x 1 cup heatproof dishes (or use tea cups) with butter or margarine.

  • Step 3: Place apples, sugar, lemon juice and sultanas in a bowl and toss to combine; Spoon apple mixture into prepared dishes.

  • Step 4: To make crumble; Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon and oats in a bowl then rub in butter to form a rough crumble.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle the crumble mix over apples.

  • Step 6: Bake for 40-45 minutes until topping is golden and crisp and apple is tender.
