Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon hot chili oil (adjust to your desired level of spiciness)
  • 2-3 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, Swiss, pepper jack, etc. -- whatever is in the refrigerator)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the softened butter and hot chili oil. Microwave for a few seconds until the butter is melted. Stir to combine the oil and butter.

  • Step 2: Heat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-low heat.

  • Step 3: Brush one side of each slice of bread with the hot chili oil and melted butter mixture.

  • Step 4: Place one slice of bread, oil-side down, on the heated skillet or pan.

  • Step 5: Layer the cheese slices evenly on top of the bread in the pan.

  • Step 6: Place the other slice of bread, oil-side up, on top of the cheese.

  • Step 7: Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese melts completely. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent the bread from burning.

  • Step 8: Once the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted to your liking, remove the grilled cheese sandwich from the pan.

  • Step 9: Let it cool for a moment, and then slice it diagonally or into halves, and serve it hot.
