  • 14 ounces dry white rice, (2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 4 cups chicken broth

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter in a large skillet.

  • Step 2: Stir in the rice and sauté for about 5 minutes, rice should be opaque not brown.

  • Step 3: Make sure to be continuously stirring.

  • Step 4: Stir in the onions and cook another 3 minutes.

  • Step 5: Add in the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne and parsley.

  • Step 6: Pour in broth and soy sauce.

  • Step 7: Cover.

  • Step 8: Reduce the heat and let the rice simmer for 20 minutes.

  • Step 9: Remove from heat.

  • Step 10: Let stand 5 minutes covered.

  • Step 11: Season to taste with a little salt and pepper.
