Step 1: Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 3: Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl.
Step 4: Add vanilla beat.
Step 5: Add sifted flour, and stir until the mixture forms a thick dough.
Step 6: Set aside.
Step 7: Filling:
Step 8: Combine the nuts, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Step 9: Form 1 inch balls with a scoop(melon baller), with the dough, and press the center to form a dent for the filling.
Step 10: Fill each cookie with about a teaspoon of the filling, and place the cookies on the parchment.
Step 11: Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Step 12: Cool on wire racks.
