  • 11 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons espresso coffee
  • Cream
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Topping
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Grease and flour a 9x13 pan.

  • Step 3: Whisk flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.

  • Step 4: In a microwave, melt the butter and add the cocoa powder and coffee for a minute .

  • Step 5: Stir to combine and remove from heat to cool slightly.

  • Step 6: In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and add the vanilla.

  • Step 7: Slowly add the butter/cocoa mixture.

  • Step 8: Add the flour mixture and then the walnuts (saving a handful to put on top).

  • Step 9: Put the dough (yes, it's a bit heavy) in the prepared pan, spreading it with a spatula.

  • Step 10: Sprinkle with the nuts and chocolate chips.

  • Step 11: Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.
