  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage, sliced 1/4-inch
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 15 ounce navy beans (1 can)
  • 15 ounces black eyed peas (1 can)
  • 15 ounces seasoned turnip greens (1 can)
  • 10 ounce diced tomatoes with green chilies (1 can)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
