Step 1: In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the black tea leaves (or tea bags), crushed cardamom pods, ground nutmeg, and ground black pepper. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
Step 2: Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the tea to remove the tea leaves and cardamom pods. Return the strained tea back to the saucepan.
Step 3: Stir in the honey or sugar while the tea is still warm, adjusting the sweetness according to your taste preference.
Step 4: Add the milk to the saucepan and heat the tea mixture over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it is heated through. Do not boil.
Step 5: Once the tea is hot, remove it from the heat and pour it into mugs or cups.
Step 6: Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon on top or garnish each cup with a whole cardamom pod for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
