  • 2 cans of chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (such as sriracha or your preferred spicy sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a food processor or blender, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, hot sauce, ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt.

  • Step 2: Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy. If needed, add a little water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to achieve the desired consistency.

  • Step 4: Once the hummus reaches your desired consistency and spiciness, transfer it to a serving bowl.

  • Step 5: If desired, drizzle a little olive oil over the top and sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.
