Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 2: Combine flour, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda; set aside.
Step 3: Combine sugar, butter, vanilla and lemon juice in large bowl; cream until fluffy.
Step 4: Add eggs, one at a time (beating after each).
Step 5: Stir together jam and buttermilk; add to creamed mixture, alternating with dry ingredients. Mix until JUST BLENDED.
Step 6: Spoon batter into 2 greased 9x5 loaf pans.
Step 7: Bake 55 minutes; cool 15 minutes, then remove to a cooling rack.
