Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2: Whisk dry ingredients together.
Step 3: Cut in butter.
Step 4: Add the cheese, then immediately afterwards, add the buttermilk.
Step 5: Mix for a minute or less, just long enough to bring the dough together.
Step 6: Turn the dough out onto a counter lightly dusted with flour.
Step 7: Knead it gently a few times to make it smooth, then roll it out into a circle about ½ inch thick.
Step 8: Cut the dough with your biscuit cutter dipped in flour.
Step 9: Re-roll the scraps and continue making biscuits until the dough is gone.
Step 10: Place the biscuits on the pan about a 1/2 inch apart.
Step 11: Bake until they are lightly browned, 12 to 15 minutes.
