Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 (21 ounce) cans of cherry pie filling
  • 1 (18 ounce) box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (slice into two pieces for easier handling when grating, then place in freezer until frozen, DO NOT use melted butter!)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (can use more)
  • 1/4 cup white sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

  • Step 2: Spoon the two cans of cherry pie filling into the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle the box of chocolate cake mix evenly on top of the cherry filling.

  • Step 3: Using a hand grater grate the frozen butter all over the cake mix. Spread the pecans evenly over the butter and cake mix. Finally sprinkle the sugar over all. Bake for 30-45 minutes. (best served warm with ice cream).
