Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 20 gram butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 60 gram ham, finely chopped
  • 2 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 6 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 2 tablespoons chives, fresh, snipped (optional )

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180°C

  • Step 2: Using a rolling pin; lightly roll slices of bread and flatten until thin.

  • Step 3: Butter the slices of bread on one slide & place the slices in a muffin tin, butter side down in order to create a case.

  • Step 4: Transfer muffin tin into the oven and bake approx; for 6 minutes.

  • Step 5: Remove the tin from the oven and reduce the temperature to 160°C

  • Step 6: Meanwhile, place the cheese, ham, spring onions and eggs in a large bowl & season with salt and pepper; mix well to combine

  • Step 7: Pour the mixture carefully into the toasted cases, and return to the oven to bake for a further 15-20 minutes or until set and lightly golden.

  • Step 8: Remove from the oven and allow to stand for 5 minutes, before carefully removing from the tin.

  • Step 9: Sprinkle with snipped chives and serve warm or at room temperature
