  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 24 ounces evaporated milk (2 cans), (12 fluid ounces each)
  • 13.4 ounces (1 can) dulce de leche milk
  • 6 eggs

How to Make

  • Step 1: Get water bath ready: fill roasting pan with warm water to about 1-inch depth.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 3: Heat sugar in small, heavy-duty saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, for 6 to 8 minutes or until dissolved and caramel-colored.

  • Step 4: Pour onto bottom of 9-inch-round cake pan and quickly swirl around bottom to coat.

  • Step 5: Next place evaporated milk, dulce de leche and eggs in blender and cover.

  • Step 6: Blend until mixed together.

  • Step 7: Pour into prepared pan.

  • Step 8: Cover lightly with foil.

  • Step 9: Place pan in large prepared roasting pan.

  • Step 10: Bake for 60 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.

  • Step 11: Remove flan from water.

  • Step 12: Cool on wire rack.

  • Step 13: Refrigerate overnight.

  • Step 14: To serve, run small spatula around edge of pan.

  • Step 15: Invert serving plate over pan.

  • Step 16: Turn over; shake gently to release.
