Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 ounce (1can ) water chestnuts,optional
  • 3 green onions, sliced thin
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons mirin, Japanese cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Slice chicken breast into 1/4 inch strips. Arrange on cutting board so it lies flat

  • Step 2: Dust one side of chicken with 1 teaspoon baking soda, flip and do the second side. Let sit 15 minutes

  • Step 3: Rinse baking soda off.with water then pat dry

  • Step 4: Season with salt and pepper

  • Step 5: While waiting on the chicken mix stock and cornstarch, then add other sauce ingredients and mix well

  • Step 6: Heat olive oil in pan over medium heat. cook on one side til golden then flip and cook til done

  • Step 7: Add broccoli to the center of the pan. cook for one minute, add water chestnuts and cook another 90 seconds.

  • Step 8: Lower heat and add the sauce. cook for 2 minutes til evenly distributed.
