Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound seedless watermelon chunks (about 2 cups)
  • 2 1/2 ounces Cruzan white rum
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 tablespoon simple syrup or agave syrup

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put the watermelon chunks in a blender and process until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl. It should make about 3/4 cups of watermelon juice (enough for 4 drinks). Refrigerate.

  • Step 2: Squeeze the lime to make the juice, but don't discard the rind. Use the rind to rub around the rim of a chilled coupe glass.

  • Step 3: Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 full of ice. Place the white rum, lime juice, agave syrup and 3 tablespoons of watermelon juice in the shaker. Shake until combined and frosty, about 15 seconds. Strain into the prepared glass.

  • Step 4: Garnish with a watermelon slice.
