Step 2: In a large shallow bowl, combine the panko and parmesan cheese. Set aside.
Step 3: In another large shallow bowl, combine the eggs and flour. Whisk well.
Step 4: Dip one spear at a time into the egg/flour mixture, turning to coat. Then dip in the panko mixture, turning to coat. Spray generously with olive oil and place the spear in the air fryer basket.
Step 5: Repeat with remaining spears, making sure they are placed in an even layer in the basket.
Step 6: Turn air-fryer to 380 F, then air fry the asparagus for 6-7 minutes, flipping halfway through. Fry until golden and tender.
Step 7: Preheat oven to 425 F while preparing the asparagus. Spray a sheet pan with oil and place the breaded asparagus on it in an even layer. Spray the asparagus with olive oil and bake 12-14 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and tender.
