Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup 2% or whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup decorating sprinkles (the soft ones -- dessert sprinkles is another name)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease cake pan.

  • Step 2: Mix dry ingredients (except the sprinkles) together in a large mixing bowl.

  • Step 3: Add oil, milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  • Step 4: Add eggs one at a time, mixing them into the batter (or you can whisk them separately and add to the bowl, but I like to avoid dishes)

  • Step 5: Mix until combined; do NOT overmix the batter.

  • Step 6: Fold in the sprinkles.

  • Step 7: Bake in a greased cake pan (9"x13") for 35 minutes or until a test toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

  • Step 8: Cool completely prior to icing/frosting (use any icing/frosting you like).
