Step 1: Rinse and cut cabbage into wedges.
Step 2: Put cabbage into large soup kettle along with garlic cloves, onions and carrots.
Step 3: Just cover vegetables with water
Step 4: Add parsley,bay leaf,boullion and peppercorns to soup kettle.
Step 5: Bring to boil
Step 6: Lower heat to low and allow to simmer for 1 hour.
Step 7: Peel and quarter potatoes.
Step 8: Add to vegetables
Step 9: Add ham
Step 10: Simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 11: Season to taste
