Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 pounds whole chicken wings (12-15 wings)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup cooking sherry
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small onion, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Remove wing tips, cut wings in half at the joints and place into a shallow baking dish. Reserve tips for making broth later, or discard.

  • Step 2: In a blender, combine soy sauce, sherry, water, brown sugar, ginger, black pepper, and onion; blend until well mixed. Pour over wings. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight, basting or turning them occasionally.

  • Step 3: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 4: Place wings on a rimmed baking sheet that has been coated with cooking spray and cover loosely with foil.

  • Step 5: Bake 40 minutes, or until tender, basting occasionally. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes, or until crispy.
