Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Gnocchi:
  • 1 package (16 ounces ) gnocchi
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces italian sausage, removed from skin and balled a little
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • 2 ounces heavy cream,(1/4 cup)
  • 4 ounces parmesan cheese, freshly grated ,(¼ cup)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper, to taste
  • Garnish:
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
  • 1 tablespoon pine nuts, toasted
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 ounces italian cheese blend, shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook gnocchi in heavily salted boiling water until floating

  • Step 2: Drain saving 1/2 cup of the water

  • Step 3: Sauce:

  • Step 4: Heat oil

  • Step 5: Add sausage and garlic

  • Step 6: Saute garlic until fragrant

  • Step 7: Add wine

  • Step 8: Add the pesto

  • Step 9: Add the gnocchi

  • Step 10: Add the cheese

  • Step 11: Add the cream

  • Step 12: (Can add some of the water you cooked gnocchi in)

  • Step 13: Simmer don't boil

  • Step 14: Season to taste

  • Step 15: Toss in minced basil

  • Step 16: Top with toasted pine nuts and cheese

  • Step 17: Some red chili flakes if using to taste
