Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 2: Spread softened cream cheese on the bottom of pie dish (or 8"x8" or 9"x9" baking dish).
Step 3: Pour chili over the cream cheese.
Step 4: Add the shredded cheese.
Step 5: Bake for 20 minutes, or until the shredded cheese is melted and bubbly and the dip is hot all the way through.
Step 6: Sprinkle diced onion over the melted cheese.
Step 7: Serve immediately, with chips, crackers or veggies. Enjoy while HOT!
