Step 1: In a dutch oven or large pot over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons butter and then add the onions and cook for 6-10 minutes or until golden. Stir in the next 4 ingredients (-orange juice) and 2 1/2 teaspoons alt and 1 teaspoon pepper and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.
Step 2: Stir in apples and increase heat to medium low and simmer, uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until cabbage is tender and liquid is syrupy. Take off heat and stir in parley and 2 tablespoons butter. Season with salt and pepper.
