Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds rainbow trout (2 whole cleaned ,scaled fish)
  • 1 scallion, minced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger root,grated
  • 1 jalapeno chili pepper, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place both fish in a Pam sprayed 9×12 baking dish.

  • Step 2: Wash and trim the green onion, mince.

  • Step 3: Sprinkle minced onions on top of the fish.

  • Step 4: Peel and finely grate the ginger root.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle on top of the fish.

  • Step 6: Minced the jalapeno pepper

  • Step 7: Place on top of the fish.

  • Step 8: Drizzle soy sauce, wine and sesame oil over the fish.

  • Step 9: Wash and trim the cilantro.

  • Step 10: Mince.

  • Step 11: Steam:

  • Step 12: If you do not have access to a large steamer, a 11×15 or 12×18 roasting pan is a fine substituted.

  • Step 13: Fill the roasting pan 1/3 full of water. Place the 9×12 baking dish inside the roasting pan.

  • Step 14: Place on top of stove top range, cover the entire roasting pan with foil and cook over high heat.

  • Step 15: Bring the water to a boil and then steam the fish for approximately 12 minutes.

  • Step 16: Spoon sauce over fish, garnish with fresh cilantro and serve.
