Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound hot italian sausage
  • 1/2 pound sweet italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves , smashed
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 6 cups chicken stock
  • 1 can(14 ounces) fire roasted tomatoes
  • 2 cans (30 ounces) butter beans,(15 ounces each )
  • 1 can(15 ounces)black beans , drained
  • 1 cup carrots, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown the sausage in a large stock pot.

  • Step 2: When browned, drain sausage on a paper towel lined plate.

  • Step 3: To same pot

  • Step 4: Saute the onion with oil.

  • Step 5: Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

  • Step 6: Add paprika and turmeric

  • Step 7: Add the chicken stock, diced tomatoes, butter beans, black beans, and carrots.

  • Step 8: Bring the mixture to a low boil.

  • Step 9: Add the sausage and simmer for ten minutes.

  • Step 10: Finally, season with salt and pepper to taste
