Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Dry:
  • 2 1/8 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Wet:
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted,(Irish of course lol)
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapenos, chopped
  • 4 ounces cheddar, ¼ inch cubes,(1 cup),(Irish)
  • 1 tablespoons caraway seeds
  • Topping:
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • Step 2: Spray bread Pam with cooking spray

  • Step 3: Whisk together (dry) flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.

  • Step 4: In a separate bowl

  • Step 5: Whisk together (wet) egg, buttermilk and melted butter.

  • Step 6: Combine the dry and wet ingredients until mixed.

  • Step 7: Add more buttermilk if needed Do not over mix

  • Step 8: Gently fold in jalapenos, cheese & caraway seeds.

  • Step 9: Spray loaf pan with a liberal amount of non-stick cooking spray.

  • Step 10: Add in batter and top with some flakey sea salt.

  • Step 11: Bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick or cake tester comes out clean.

  • Step 12: Cool for 5 minutes and quickly remove from tin to a wire rack to finish cooling before slicing
