Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1⁄2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 can (15 ounces) bean sprouts, drained
  • 2 cans(16 ounces) sliced water chestnuts, drained ,(8 ounces each)
  • 2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cans(20 ounces)cream of mushroom soup,(10 ounces each)
  • 10 1⁄2 ounces water,(soup can)
  • 1 package 10 ounces) chow mein noodles
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Lightly brown hamburger and drain off excess fat.

  • Step 3: Add pepper, onion and celery plus enough water to cover.

  • Step 4: Simmer for 20 minutes.

  • Step 5: Add sprouts, water chestnuts and canned soup plus one soup can of water.

  • Step 6: Should be a little thin, as it will thicken upon baking.

  • Step 7: Add soy sauce and pour mixture into pan sprayed 3 quart casserole.

  • Step 8: Bake 30 minutes (until thickened and well seasoned).

  • Step 9: Served over heated noodles that you have put on cookie sheet and warmed up in oven
